North Fork and Inter-Canyon Fire Protection Districts Join Elk Creek Fire on Life-Saving PulsePoint App

Pine, Morrison, and Conifer - North Fork Fire Protection District and Inter-Canyon Fire Protection District have joined Elk Creek Fire Protection District on PulsePoint, a 911-connected app that can immediately inform users of emergencies occurring in the community and can request citizen’s help when CPR is needed nearby.
PulsePoint Respond empowers everyday citizens to provide life‐saving assistance to victims of sudden cardiac arrest. App users who have indicated they are trained in CPR and willing to assist in case of an emergency can be notified if someone nearby is in cardiac arrest. The location-aware application will alert users in the vicinity of the need for CPR simultaneous with the dispatch of advanced medical care. The app also directs these rescuers to the exact location of nearby AEDs. According to North Fork Fire Chief Curt Rogers, “PulsePoint is even more urgent in a rural environment where it can sometimes take emergency services longer to reach an incident. As we know it is critical to start CPR as quickly as possible in a cardiac arrest situation. Having a CPR-certified member of the community who can get to the scene more quickly will improve the odds of a successful resuscitation.”
Users can download the PulsePoint Respond app on their Apple or Android devices, search for North Fork Fire, Inter-Canyon Fire, or Elk Creek Fire as the agency to follow, and select types of incident notifications and whether they are available to respond for CPR needed nearby.
