The Canyon Courier and My Mountain Town are co-sponsoring an Elk Creek Fire Protection District Candidate Forum on April 6, 2023 at West Jefferson Middle School, 9449 Barnes Ave, Conifer, CO 80433 from 6:30-8:00PM. It is an opportunity to get to know the six candidates running for three ECFPD Board of Directors positions. The election will be held on May 2 from 7:00AM to 7:00PM, and you may vote either by absentee ballot, which you must request in writing by April 25 from the Designated Election Officer (DEO) and return to the DEO no later than 7:00PM on May 2, or in-person at Fire Station 1, 11993 Blackfoot Rd, Conifer, CO 80433. If you have questions for the candidates, please submit them in advance to Canyon Courier editor Kristen Fiore (kfiore@coloradocommunitymedia.com) and write "Elk Creek Fire Candidate Forum" in the email subject line. Editor Fiore and and Colorado Community Media editor-in-chief Michael de Yoanna will be in charge of developing the final questions and moderating. The deadline for question submission is noon on April 5; no questions will be accepted at the forum from the community.
